The best restaurants in Saint-Germain-des-Prés

Our must-see addresses

Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the most beautiful place in Paris, is known for its chic and bohemian atmosphere, literary cafés, and exceptional restaurants. Whether you're looking for refined cuisine, a typical brasserie, or a unique gastronomic experience, here's our selection of the best restaurants in the area.

1. Guy Savoy

Guy Savoy is one of the chefs I’ve had the privilege of knowing for over twenty-five years. I first discovered him back when he ran his restaurant on Rue Troyon, where his talent and generosity were already evident in a way that’s truly rare.
Today, at the Monnaie de Paris, he embodies the excellence of French haute cuisine more than ever. In this exceptional setting, Guy Savoy has elevated his art to an even more masterful level, showcasing French cuisine at its highest.
It has been an immense joy to follow his journey over all these years, and a source of genuine pride to have introduced his restaurant to so many food lovers. Every meal at Guy Savoy is a celebration of flavor, elegance, and emotion.

2. Restaurant Voltaire

For more than three decades, Le Voltaire has been a part of my world. I discovered the spirit of this establishment thanks to Véronique, the wife of the famous architect Jacques Couëlle, and one of the leading antique dealers on Quai Voltaire, whose name I will not mention. That marked the beginning of a loyalty that has never wavered.

Here, everything evokes Parisian elegance in its most authentic form: generous hospitality, a loyal clientele, and a cozy atmosphere where art lovers, aesthetes, and devotees of Saint-Germain-des-Prés come together.

Some places stand the test of time without ever losing their soul. Le Voltaire is one of them. A discreet, cherished institution that remains one of my favorite spots to this day.

3. Boutary

This intimate restaurant is a true gastronomic gem. Specializing in caviar, Boutary offers inventive, elegant cuisine featuring surprising flavor combinations. The experience is as sensory as gustatory, perfect for an exceptional evening. A delightful experience in a community of enthusiasts.

4. Huguette, Bistro de la mer

At Huguette’s, “the salty sea air of the coast in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.” The seafood platters, the famous frog legs, and the razor clams with parsley are sure to delight your taste buds! The perfect combination for a top-notch land-and-sea experience.

5. Le Tout-Paris

Perched atop Le Cheval Blanc, Le Tout-Paris offers breathtaking views of the Seine and the capital. The restaurant isn’t tucked away in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, but stands directly across from it, like a discreet guardian of its spirit. In the kitchen, Chef William Beaudin crafts a precise and inspired composition, while my dear friend Thomas Rubeli orchestrates the whole with quiet elegance and a touch that is as delicate as it is confident. The menu features French dishes revisited with finesse and a contemporary touch. An ideal setting for a chic dinner with a breathtaking view.

6. Le Petit Lutetia

A Parisian institution, Le Petit Lutetia combines the spirit of a brasserie with refined cuisine. The atmosphere is chic and cozy, perfect for a romantic dinner or a business meal. The menu features classic French dishes, always prepared with the utmost care. It is on the edge of the neighborhood, but it’s worth the short walk!

7. Le Relais de l'Entrecôte

True to its reputation, Le Relais de l'Entrecôte offers a unique formula that has made it such a success: a tasty entrecôte topped with its famous secret sauce, accompanied by as many crispy fries as you like. All served in a traditional, chic and lively Parisian setting. Perfect for meat lovers looking for a simple, efficient, and delicious meal.

8. Patang

Patang is a confidential address offering contemporary Indian cuisine, refined and full of flavor. The dishes creatively revisit the great classics in an elegant setting that blends modernity with oriental touches. Ideal for a sophisticated, exotic dinner with friends or lovers.

9. L'Avant-Comptoir du Marché

A friendly, gourmet address, L'Avant Comptoir du Marché revisits the spirit of the French counter in a lively atmosphere. There's no fuss here: local tapas, fine wine, and inventive cuisine by Yves Camdeborde are served standing up, just a stone's throw from the Marché Saint-Germain. A relaxed tapas atmosphere, all year round,

10. Le Tournon

Exquisite French cuisine in one of Paris’s most legendary neighborhoods, a haven for the Intellectuals who forged the legend of the Left Bank. Dining here means becoming part of a long and noble Parisian tradition. The chef is incredible, and Adrien, a true gentleman and quiet, unassuming man, looks out for you.
